bits and pieces of today

Hooray to discovering that lyrics to Chinese songs that are in hanyu pinyin actually do exist on the web. Only for a few of them though, but quite cool nonetheless, at least i'll not be mumbling mandarinish nonsense when i play the song. For hong dou, the hanyu pinyin lyrics even come complete with an English translation (how accurate a translation beats me though) so at least now i know that the song isn't just about red beans... Actually, i realise that mandarin is a rather cool language in the sense that it is able to capture so much meaning so succintly, in such a way that any literal translation into English sounds just totally warped as a result. Too bad back in primary school the language way cruelly forced down my throat to such an extent that i harbour a permanent resentment of sorts against the language... That doesn't mean that i can't enjoy songs in the language though, even though i have no idea what they are talking about...

Have made a certain degree of progress in prep for the dreaded el2101... Still rather uneasy though... Ah to not be obsessed with grades, particularly for this one...

Ate too much chilli padi with my liver mee sua just now for dinner. Three sauce plates worth of it. No kick at all in the mouth, but could almost feel a volcano erupting within my stomach by the third plateful...

Aiyah, today was the season finale of Lost, and i only managed to catch the first half on tv mobile (one of the few times that i actually appreciate its presence...). Ah well, looks like i am just not meant to catch it...

I somehow managed to slash my finger with a butter knife just now. How i manage to get into all these silly household incidents is beyond me...

Still one week till exams end *bleah*
