Found time to run another (actually only the second) 2.4 since ORD today, good news is, that i had a better time than the first one (11'41"82), bad news is, today's timing was 11'40"19, which means an improvement of only 1.63 seconds, and still a fraction away from a silver timing (not that i have much faith in my static stations either). While even a slight improvement may still otherwise be seen as good news for me, i see it as bad news cos it means that i have to run many more times to see a marked improvement, and running stinks...
Anyway, otherwise i am feeling rather contented with myself, cos i actually managed to get some work done today *sounds the bells of celebration*. Actually, it's not much, all i really did was read pages 1-69 of Osborne's "Southeast Asia: An Introductory History" , selectively highlighting and comenting at the side in pencil along the way... I also printed and collated some of my many readings, and i always get a sense of achievement whenever i do so, although that means that the next step is to actually READ them *eek*
While at the library, the silly fire alarm went off for the third and fourth time since the new sem started (on friday it went off twice too). I think it has reached a point where i (and i believe most of the other chao muggers in the library, judging from today's response, or rather lack of response, apart from the occasional "tsk tsk" here and there, to the alarms) would either die of smoke inhalation or be burnt to death should a real fire ever break out in the library, cos i wouldn't even bother to lift a finger towards the exit...
Oh ya, and don't try the spicy Thai chicken mcnuggets sauce, it tastes horrible, and is neither remotely Thai or spicy (it has mayo in it, for goodness' sake...)
