(I originally wanted to, in my love for alliteration, even if it means nonsensical and provocative phrases resulting from it, title this post "the terok teva thongs", but in the interest of not giving any reader a mistaken impression of myself - after all, my teva sandals are not thong sandals - the above title will have to do)
I thought that at the triple-digit prices that i bought them at less than two years ago, they'd be a little more reliable, but i stand corrected, for the right heel sole wearing down apparently due to my walking pattern has now resulted in water from the wet roads being able to soak through the sole into the fabric of the sandal straps and then to my right foot itself. It's such a gross feeling, to have one heel feel desperately wet while you walk, while the rest of your two feet be perfectly dry.
I seem to have the uncanny knack of owning footwear that fails on me in wet weather. Wet feet while walking is just gross (unless of course you are barefooted to begin with).
Ah, but why am i going on about such a mundane subject?
Had lunch n coffee with allo buddy Melvin today, had a good time catching up with him, now that the hols are near a close. Good to finally meet up with people near home for a change. Parkway basement is now much nicer, with courts replaced by loads of smaller shops like coffee bean and an intriguingly-named high-class butchery called, strangely enough, espirito santo (holy spirit).
The sep process is one big rollercoaster with periods of varying ease and confusion levels. Certainly a big effort for lazy me... Still manageable by God's grace though =)...
Have you ever thought about, as Zhiwei pointed out (trust a lawyer to point out such things) how duh this line is: "it was for freedom that Christ has set us free"? Not that it's untrue or anything like that, just clearly stating the obvious, that's all...
Was momentarily lamenting how Mark's departure meant having no more people to run with (people whom i sorely need to help to prevent me from degenerating into a sedentary slothlike specimen), when God provided not one, but two (and possibly more) people today hee =)
